“Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful…” - Norman Vincent Peale
THE CHRISTMAS TREE
The tree wasn’t looking quite festive enough.
It needed more lights, more tinsel, and more coloured baubles.
So he quickly got to work.
And by the time he’d added all the extra items to the branches, it looked spectacular.
But it was still missing a slightly bigger star at the top.
That would be the finishing touch.
Which he was just about to climb up and place into position, when the Department Store staff pulled him off the step ladder and told him to stop tampering with their Christmas display…
THE FULL HOUSE
We’d been longing for Christmas all December, and had lots of things planned for when our whole family came to stay.
But once they’d arrived, the pressure of living together, and trying to cook for everyone soon became too much.
And we were longing for it all to be over…
THE TURDUCKEN
Our Grandmother was planning to make something extra special for Christmas Dinner, and she couldn’t wait for us to try it.
When we asked her what it was, she said it was a Turducken.
We all looked at each other with confused expressions, and almost simultaneously said, “What the hell is a Turducken?”
“It’s a chicken, stuffed in a duck, and then they’re both stuffed in a turkey”, she said, “Like a set of nesting dolls.”
We were horrified.
So we told her we’d all gone vegetarian.
And just hoped there would be plenty of side dishes to go round…
THE SNOWFLAKES
The snowflakes looked so beautiful as they were falling.
So magical.
Like a scene from a Christmas card come to life, as everything became dusted in white.
It was almost hypnotic.
And it was so pretty and fun to watch, that he couldn’t resist immediately shaking the snow globe again…
THE RING
I was planning to propose on Christmas Eve.
I placed the diamond ring between my lips, ready to surprise her.
I thought it would be romantic.
I wasn’t expecting my brother to slap me on the back so hard as he said, “Merry Christmas”.
I swallowed the ring.
Now, I won’t be proposing for at least a few more days…

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! 🎄😎🎄
The ‘Tales of the Zeitgeist’ Anthology is available now on Amazon Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
With the story about the ring, I found myself wondering...does he still give it to her and never say anything? Every time he sees it, he's going to remember the entire ordeal from start to finish.
The Ring one sent me 🤣🤣🤣
