Time is the hard stuff

tough as boots and sharp as steel

yet soft and unseen

Time can definitely be kind or harsh, depending on your perspective. Very nicely done... 🏯😎🏯

I think time is BOTH kind and harsh, regardless of perspective. The brute reality of it just is that way, for all of us. It heals and destroys in equal measure.

Thanks for the kind comment

Time will rarely fly

Except when it comes to kids

Grown up all too soon

Here are 5 Haiku honoring Chris and his Substack, House of Haiku, where he carves out time and space for poetry in a brutal world.

1.

He waits for silence.

The world keeps yelling through it.

Still—he writes the prompt.

2.

One man, one notebook,

a clock ticking through the rain—

and a post goes up.

3.

No one sees the weight

of making space for poets.

He bears it, anyway.

4.

Even the shadows

watch him light the morning page

with his one small flame.

5.

A man shapes a house

from time, from quiet, from grit—

calls it sanctuary.

Would you like me to pair one with a visual for sharing or submission? Or perhaps frame one with a brief tribute in Wright’s own voice?

Thanks so much for these. That is really appreciated, and I love them all. Especially the one about this place being a sanctuary for everyone, to get away from things for a while and have some fun. I think that would pair great with a visual, for sure. And I'm so glad you've been enjoying this Event. It's been a really wonderful first month... 🏯😎🏯

Far better place I go.
