Welcome to the ‘House of Haiku’, where the challenge is to create something inspired by the Prompt below using only 17 syllables, laid out in three lines, containing five, seven, and five syllables respectively.
Let’s have some fun writing together!
On this day, in 1859, the first installment of 'A Tale of Two Cities', by Charles Dickens, was published in the literary periodical 'All the Year Round'. It continued running each week, until November. A beloved story of friendship and sacrifice, it begins with the iconic opening line, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..."
And so, our Prompt for this week is: TIME
They may say it flies,
But, when I look in your eyes,
Time always stands still…
Thanks for being here and for supporting this Event throughout its first month.
And thanks for all your amazing contributions!

Time is the hard stuff
tough as boots and sharp as steel
yet soft and unseen
Sunsets in your eyes
Sparkle with intensity
Ev’ry single time
