It was meant to be a romantic break.
The trip of our DREAMS.
A few days of blissful SLOW MOTION, away from the stresses and the fast pace of the modern world, to start the New Year on a BRILLIANT high.
We arrived expecting to see intersecting canals full of gondolas we could SLIP AWAY in whenever we had some TIME TO KILL, and gorgeous bridges we could FLOW under, while we relaxed and admired the INGENUITY of a city built on water.
But what we got was Baroque palaces, and a cathedral we were pretty much ready to CUT AND RUN from, having seen the best of it ALL IN ONE DAY.
Because we'd accidentally booked VIENNA, instead of Venice...
