On this day, or thereabouts, in 1930, artist and illustrator, Grant Wood, completed work on his iconic painting, ‘American Gothic’, which famously depicts a farmer and his daughter in front of a house in Eldon, Iowa. It’s an image that has since been parodied and referenced numerous times in various forms of media and art, most notably in the opening title sequence of the television show ‘Green Acres’, and in the movie ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.
And so, our Prompt for this week is: PAINT
‘Wet Paint’, said the sign,
Yet curious minds, still touched,
And left prints behind…
