A beautiful piece of Haiku! It's definitely a very magical moment when you can feel that love surrounding you, making everything brighter, and changing your perception of the world. It's like going from black and white to colour, a bit like 'Bewitched' did! Haha... 🏯😎🏯

Walpurgis Magic Haiku Series

Dive into the myth of Walpurgis, a legendary witch tied to the ancient Harz Mountains of Germany. Each year on the night of April 30th, her spirit is honored at the Witches' Dance Place, where locals and visitors gather to celebrate the fabled Walpurgis Night.

```
Harz cliffs guard the vale,
magic braids the mountain winds,
drums awaken stone.
At the dance-hall peak,
witches stir the April night,
magic threads the fire.
Pines lean in to watch,
magic circles blaze the ground,
stars applaud the spell.
Thale’s ridges hum,
magic echoes down the gorge,
rivers learn the tune.
Walpurgis ascends,
magic waits with open palms,
ready for the crown
```

He sawed a woman in half. Magic?

The police didn't think so. Tragic.

Absolutely! Green spaces are so important, especially in cities. They add so much beauty, and more importantly, they soak up pollutants and help clean the air! 🏯😎🏯

Hi! They're a lot of fun, for sure. We've been doing this weekly Event dedicated to them for about six months now, and it's been really lovely. I also just celebrated my two-year Substack Anniversary with a little Post earlier this week. It's amazing I've been here that long already. The time goes so quickly! Hope things are going well for you, too. I have a lot of catching up to do on here, but I noticed you've recently published a poetry magazine. Congratulations! That's so wonderful to have your words in print, and such a fantastic achievement. I've been focussing on Kindle this year, but I'm definitely hoping to move towards print books myself soon. I even have a space saved on the shelf in readiness! Haha... 🏯😎🏯

That’s great! I love Haikus. And congratulations to you on two years! Time flies!! And thank you :). The relief of finishing up a project is the best part! I think I slept for two days. lol. ox

Thanks! That is much appreciated. Although it's only been two years, I feel like I've learnt a lot from being here, and it's really helped me grow as a writer. Discovering Microfiction has been a particular highlight. I even ended up doing a book about it! Haha! And yes, I completely agree, finishing a project is always incredibly satisfying, but it can also be incredibly exhausting, as well... 🏯😎🏯

I am always behind! I must catchup - but is there such a thing? My book pile is also ridiculous! What is it about getting older and at Christmas all we do is exchange books? lol. I think we just don’t need much anymore. Sometimes my brain feels very overwhelmed. We love to read but we really love to write too. It’s a lot! Projects are a total miracle! So glad you accomplished a book too and are doing well here Chris :) ox

A Conclave Of Magical Haiku

September 17 2025

Prompt by:Tales of the Zeitgeist:HOUSE OF HAIKU

PROMPT: MAGIC

1

The song delivered

Magical moments come true

Xanadu lives on

2

I watched as he flicked

Fingers demonstrating why

Eyes don’t always see

3

Stood in total awe

As figures danced on the screen

New and exciting

4

Eyes were opened wide

Mind awakening at last

New truths to behold

5

Voices heard so clear

Don’t look behind the curtain

Presto, it’s magic

6

“Be healed!” he did say

It’s just mind over matter

Magical dreams bled
